The fever of Pro Wrestling League – Khel Fauladi set the stage on fire in Ludhiana, Punjab yesterday. Excitement reached to its highest level in Guru Nanak Indoor Stadium when Revanta’s Mumbai Garuda came into ring to give tough fight to Bengaluru Yodhas in the fifth match of PWL.Begaluru Yodha’s gave tough fight in all bouts but at the end of the game the team Mumbai Gaurda emerged victorious with score of 5-2. With their second consecutive victory, Revanta’s Mumbai Garuda is leading at number one in the point tally of Pro Wrestling League’s season 1.
Mumbai Garuda’s, Odunayo Adekuoroye registered an electrifying victory over her counterpart Lalita Sherawat in female 53 kgs category. Odunayo was making the game difficult for Lalita from beginning and game was finished in short duration of just 1 min 21 secs.
Happy and excited with her stunning victory, Odunayo danced to the beats of bhangra celebrating her win. The audience also enjoyed the moment cheering for the Mumbai Garuda team owned by the Revanta group.
Another female star of the Mumbai team, Adeline Gray was quoted saying, “It’s a great win for the team. The crowd has been very supportive and we are very happy playing in India. Our team is very strong and we look forward to some more action in matches to come.”
Wrestling Leagues comprises of six city based franchisee teams from across the country. Each team has 9 players including Indians, foreign, men and women. In season 1, PWL will have 18 ties out of which 15 are in league phase, 2 semi-finals and the Grand Finale. Each tie will be played on the basis of 7 bouts formats which will be contested in league phase.
